Spirit of Enterprise – Top businesses will once again be stepping into the spotlight at the glittering trophy presentation ceremony for the Spirit of Enterprise Awards 2017, the biggest and most prestigious annual celebration of business excellence in the Great Yarmouth borough.
The Spirit of Enterprise Awards, now in its tenth year, is organised by enterpriseGY, Great Yarmouth Borough Council’s business support service, and aims to celebrate and raise the profile of top-performing firms across the borough.
The ceremony, held in the Town Hall’s elegant Assembly Room on Friday, November 17 will see one of the country’s top digital learning consultancies, Smart eLearning compete for the coveted title of Great International Growth. This will be Smart eLearning’s second time as finalists for the category, after almost tripling their international revenue.
Director Andrew Vanderpal said “After an extremely busy year it is again an honour for the team to be nominated for the award. We have worked tirelessly to build lasting relationships and to continue to offer the exceptional level of customer satisfaction that our clients expect”.
This year has seen Smart eLearning become the preferred vendor for Johnson & Johnson APAC, and additionally have secured contracts across the medical, pharmaceutical, energy, and automotive sectors in the United States, Australia, Eastern Europe and the UAE.
Smart eLearning engaged with Johnson & Johnson to create a globally deployed workforce alignment curriculum in multiple languages. The success of which, has created a ripple effect and Smart eLearning are now undertaking new projects across various J&J lines of business.

Great International Growth Award
This award will celebrate businesses that can demonstrate that finding and developing new growth opportunities abroad has improved their financial performance.
This award includes all aspects of international growth including export, geographical expansion and acquisition.
This award is open to all sizes of businesses with an operating base in the Great Yarmouth Borough Council administrative area achieving export growth or an increase in revenue from overseas operations since April 2010.

The Spirit of Enterprise Awards are presented in front of approximately 200 guests including finalists, judges, sponsors, entrepreneurs and the town’s business leaders.
The Awards are the only recognition of entrepreneurial success in Great Yarmouth and provide an exciting platform for business people and entrepreneurs to meet and share their thoughts on common business issues and opportunities arising in the town.
The evening includes fine dining and culminates in the prestigious Awards presentation.
